5 Unique Planter Ideas (from stuff you probably already have at home!)

This is my first of many indoor gardening related posts, hooray! Finally!

Anyhow, I thought I would start with planter ideas because if you have as many plants as I do you are probably always looking for new containers to put them in. Depending on the plant, you can get pretty creative with what you actually use. Check out these inspirational ideas for planting in stuff you probably already have lying around the house.

1. The Teacup: Who doesn't have an old teacup lying around? OK maybe you don't, but they are so cheap and easy to find at the thrift store and make really cute and simple planters.

2. Driftwood: If you live by the sea this is a must, throw in some sandy soil and easy to care for succulents and you could leave this planter on your porch, in your garden, or bring it inside!

3. Old Tool Box: The rustier the better! The contrast between the hard edged toolbox and soft flowing plants created a lovely juxtaposition when together.

4. Old Tin Cans: One of the easiest and cheapest materials to come by, the tin can makes an excellent container. Super easy to poke holes in if drainage is necessary and they only look better and better as they start to age.

5. Self Watering Glass Planter: These lovely and easy self water planters may take a little craftiness, and if you are up for the challenge there is a great tutorial on Designsponge. Otherwise you can definitely find them on etsy...

Has anyone had good experiences or bad experiences with any of these? What are your favorites?
